2018 Chili Cook Off Cancelled

Posted on

Due to recent and significant health concerns of the two event organizers, the chili cook off is cancelled.  We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.  It was not an easy decision to stop a 35 year tradition, but we appreciate all of the support we’ve received over the last week.  May your hot, mild, or wild side still shine despite this setback.  Yours in Optimism- the Bellevue East Town Optimists

Toys for Needy Children “Wrap” Up

Posted on

Saturday, December 12th was filled with great holiday fun as we wrapped presents for over 400 children in our Toys for Needy program.  With the help of our friends, neighbors, churches, and organizations like the Family and Childcare Resources of N.E.W. we were able to give each child a gift and a book.  Each family also received a game to play.  You can check out photos from the event here: http://tinyurl.com/zbk9mwl

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night, week, month, year!

Chili Cook Off Success in 2015

Posted on Updated on

thank you burst
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our annual Chili Cook Off. We couldn’t have pulled it off without our chili contestants, our market place vendors, the band, the chili judges, the set-up and take-down crews, the hard workers during the event and….YOU! It was fantastic seeing all the wonderful people that make up our generous community. We, as Optimists, are so grateful you let us be part of your day. The children we help all year long through the funds raised at this event are grateful for your attendance and donations as well!

Congratulations to our winners below.  Everyone made tremendously different and savory chili for people to try.  I even had people asking if they could buy quarts of the contestant chili to take home (I’m sure the cooks did too!).  But, sorry folks, only Optimist Chili can be taken home for your enjoyment later in the week!
